Everytime I read what boxing fans online think I hear Roy Jones never faught nobody, Bernard Hopkins never faught nobody, James Toney never faught nobody, Floyd Mayweather never faught nobody and the list goes on. Who from today can that not be said for? Or do most fighters get that from fans? It seems that way at times.

Well I'm just trying to get an idea of who most boxing fans respect for their resumes. That was basically my goal of this thread. I notice that there are many fighters who get labeled as guys who didn't fight anyone, so I was like hmm in this modern day, who do people respect as far as quality of opposition?Comment

who decides who is a "somebody" or a "nobody"?.Well I'm just trying to get an idea of who most boxing fans respect for their resumes. That was basically my goal of this thread. Every fighter fights nobodys early on, but when fighters like Mayweather, Jones Jr, Toney etc who are/were so dominating people always say "well, that guy (opponent)wasnt that good anyway"
I think Mayweathers resume is up there - Corrales, Gatti, Castillo x 2, Judah, also Jones' - Hopkins, Toney, Tarver, Hill, Ruiz, Paz. Lennox defeated everyone he fought - take rematches into account, you cant ask for much more
Dela Hoya has some great names on his as well, but as much as i like him, he did lose to the best names on that list, as did Gatti and Corrales
Its all opinionComment
