Did Vitaly F'ed himself over with the $$$ opportunity?

First of all, I'm just glad that the fight for the WBC is finally scheduled....

One question that did raise my eyebrows...

Vitali Klitshcko - Champion Emeritus was officially promised that he is guaranteed a shot at the title upon his return

Samuel Peter - #1 Mandatory challenger and has earned his right (twice) to fight for that same title

Vitali's camp in conjunction with Maskaev's camp, were offering Peter a step-aside fee and a guaranteed shot at the winner of Maskaev/Klitchko

    nothing new so far...

But should Vitali have secured the same kind of deal with Peter?
I mean both parties were interested in fighting Maskaev.. how come he never said.. OK Sam, **** it, you fight Maskaev first and I'll fight the winner.. but I want some LOOT!

I mean the matter did not go into court and no one really knows who has more rights to fight Maskaev. I know what the public wants, but legal defense is different.

    Just a thought!

Recently, mass media has been overflowing with various interpretations of the situation, which developed as a result of negotiations between Vitali Klitschko, Oleg Maskaev and Samuel Peter. Two parties have already laid out their reasons for the termination of negotiations, making it impossible to carry out the fight that was supposed to take place on June 2nd between Vitali Klitschko and Oleg Maskaev, who holds the title of world champion under WBC. Individuals from each party, insist that they were not at fault for the ruined negotiations, blaming others for the break in the process. However, judging by the way events played out surrounding the negotiations, it becomes evident that there were some unsolved issues. In order to find out what really took place that lead to the end of negotiations between Vitali and Oleg, Klitschko.com turned to the WBC Champion Emeritus - Vitali Klitschko.
"My fight with Oleg Maskaev, that many fans all over the world have been waiting for, unfortunately will not take place. The main reason that negotiations terminated was due to unreasonable ambitions of both Samuel Peter and Oleg Maskaev, which made it impossible to find a compromise that satisfied all of the parties taking part in negotiations. These negotiations dragged on for three months.
"On Wednesday, April 4th, we had received a message, in which one of the main partners of the negotiation process – HBO, informed us that with only eight weeks remaining before the fight, it would be impossible for them to produce a live transmission of the fight. Therefore HBO made the final decision, announcing that it would be impossible for me to face Oleg Maskaev on June 2nd.
"Statements by Oleg's promoter, Dennis Rappaport, that supposedly Vitali Klitschko had refused to carry out a fight against Maskaev, are absurd. I would like to point out once again that the only reason I decided to continue my sports career was to retake the championship title that I previously held, as well as to fulfill our dream of having two brothers as heavyweight champions of the world.
"My team gave their utmost and was ready to make any reasonable compromise so that this fight would take place as soon as possible. However, due to reasons outside of our control, carrying out this fight has become impossible. I do not desire to turn to sports arbitration court since this case could drag on and the fight would get postponed for some time. I don't want to block any fights in heavyweight division, or deprive fans of much anticipated events.
"I want to give Oleg Maskaev and Samuel Peter a chance to face each other as soon as possible, so that I can face the winner. The WBC has already spoken to Maskaev and Peter's promoters about organization of their fight. I hope that Oleg's fight against Samuel would take place in near future, as this would allow me to face the winner in the fall of this year."

Heavy weight division sucks because theirs only two really good champions currently... That is Wlad Klitschko, and Vitali Klitschko... And there brothers so they won't even fight each other, in the end no ones going to even be a challenge to them. Sam Peters is a joke, he lost his first fight against a fat version of james toney(who shouldn't even be in the heavy weight division to begin with), yet the judges robbed him big time. Then samuel peters beat him in a second fight, with it not even being close at all. Oleg beat up rahman... Vitali beat up lennox, Lennox beat up vitali. Neither sam peters or oleg could stand a chance against lennox, and vitali matched lennox in that fight. And both the Klitschko's seem to get better over time. Example, you should have seen how nice Wlad threw that left of his to take out ray austin. In instant replay you can see how much force was behind that punch. And some dumb asses think austin threw that fight, sorry Austins a ***** compared to Wlad. Austin should fight bums like oleg and sam peters. I have oleg winning that fight though, since oleg trains smarter in my opinion, plus samuel peters will turn into rahman rockman against oleg. Olegs going to wear him out and knock him down, and olegs the bigger guy. The only advantage sam peters has in that fight is that hes younger, but personally I think Oleg even at his old age, is in far better condition.

You're an idiot it was still a close fight moron. You seem to discredit vitali in that fight, when I didn't discredit lewis once.

Ok, ******. Let me state a fact. Vitali was winning 4 rounds to lennox's pathetic 2 rounds after the fight was stopped... Wow, lennox is known for being great at winning by points and knocking opponents out, not that night. Close fight genius
