wow, i'm surprised people are still only hearing about Reggie for the first time. dude is a legend, though for all of the wrong reasons.
His record is a bit deceptive - not the losses part, but the # of times he's been KO'd. A lot of opponents master the art of surviving, where they simply stop fighting back and show up merely to last the distance (and of course, collect a paycheck).
When they're in danger of getting stopped, they clinch, headbutt, rabbit punch, do whatever it takes to either last the distance or get DQ'd. A stoppage loss puts you on the suspension list (minimum 30 days), whereas losing by decision or (in most cases) DQ frees you to fight again whenever you want. That's why you see guys like Reggie (Verdell Smith, Donnie Penelton, Buck Smith and others) fighting 20 times a year.
