Hold up for a second...let me explain something to all of you OK before you jump all over Pete..... and those of you that have fought on TV before and were interviewed after, etc will know exactly what I am talking about...MANY TIMES when a guy is interviewed after such a big fight like that it is a thing where his emotions are so crazy and his mind is not so clear and he will often say things that A- he wont even remember after and B- things that he would never say under normal cicumstances. I have seen that many times. I have been interviewed on TV after fights...I remember one in particular where I won a decision and afterwards I said something so totally out of character for me....everybody that knew me on a personal level was like "What did he say??" And to this day I have no idea, it was like my mind had al ife of its own. I rarely go by things a fighter says right after a fight and you shouldnt either.

manfredo was pissed off about the stoppage but he's got enough class not to start rampaging on english television. he wanted to show respect to the people and its champion in their home and thats what he did. the brits should be happy that he gave that much consideration.

ICE please tell us what you think of the stoppage. Personally I thought it was reasonable b/c Pete did nothing to make the ref think a fight was actually taking place. But the rest of the forum has been hard on the ref.

Are you insane? Calzaghe missed alot of his shots, barely hitting peter. How can a fight be stopped such as that? And I don't go by compbox. OH look, calzaghe used his jab to get peter to the ropes, look at peters ability to duck and weave... This fight was stopped too soon, and this made joe's 20th defense look horrible. I've even seen a picture of joe, where he has a stunned look on him when they stopped it before it even got started. Joe knows this fight was stopped really poorly, and it was ******ed... But besides that, why the **** was joe even fighting someone at peter's level? It's not like no one knew before this fight that calzaghe was not better then peter. We all knew calzaghe was going to win, except the ******s who wanted the underdog manfredo

Well, regardless of what anyone thinks would have happened...you still have to let it play out. Peter was NOT gettin hit there at the end, there's no way around that fact. The ref, if he was fair and impartial, should have said "Come on, Manfredo, show me something." Pete would have taken the cue and fought back I am sure.

I just wiped it mate, but it was pretty much as the ITV one, though with a lot more braggadocio for the US market. "I'm brilliant, isn't it? Give us a kiss, da" I think was the gist.

I've upped this to YouTube, it's processing now. And I take your point, John.

Its one thing to show respect, its another to praise ur victor, then totally contradict urself and rubbish him moments later.

Ive believe if u have somthing to say, sat it to their face, not behind their backs.

Nah, it either makes him look like a backstabber or someone who hasn't got the balls to tell it like he sees it. If he'd gone on ITV and said "you all suck ****" I'd have respected him more.

I agree... the only thing is, I think the HBO interview came first.
