What do you think of Alexander Dimitrenko?

Alexander Dimitrenko, age 24, has a record of 25-0. He is rated #4 by the WBO, #9 by the WBC, 11 by the WBA and #16 by BoxRec. Yet, unlike Alexander Povetkin, he is often ignored when people discuss potential titleholders.

He's fought some of the better journeymen in his last 11 matches, but never a real contender. It is now time for him to step up and face opponents ranked in the top 25.

There's several of his fights on YouTube, including his easy win over the previously undefeated Basile. Go to YouTube and search for "Dimitrenko" and it will bring them up.

There is no-one around his age range better than him, fact. Great Jab, Good technical ability an intimidating size, he still looks like a 4 year old which would hurt him (marketing) with fight fans in the US.

If hes ranked number 4 by the wbo look for him to get a titleshot probably next year or even at the end of this year..

Not too impressed with this guy JD... I just watched him struggle against journeyman fighter Danny Batchelder and complain about being hit in the body! This guy would be exposed by a fighter who has a Tyson or Tua style of fighting.

If you watch the video of him against Batchelder, he let's his opponent come in unfaltered and fight him on the inside.

Dimitrenko was very impressive against Basile - he reminded me of Wlad in that one. He's won a lot of early round KO's and TKO's.

But you're right, he did let Batchelder inside, and that shows he still has some things to work on. However, he's young and may improve. I agree he has less potential than Povetkin, but he may do okay, and possibly even win a title or two.
