It was obvious from what Manfredo was saying before the fight that he didnt think he could win. No-one did. At the press conference before the fight HBO were talking about Joe's next fight as if he had already beat manfredo.

I think criticism of Joe for taking the fight is legitimate but complaining about the stoppage is not relevant. Joe would've finished off Manfredo later on in that round or the next one. Manfredo may not have been hurt but he wasnt throwing back and he would have been tko'd or ko'd soon after that.

What Joe needs to do now is fight either Hopkins, Taylor or Kessler.

Taylor would be a better opponent. But then ANYONE would be better than Frodo. The problem with brits is they never fight anyone of substance. In the last 50 years they've completely lost their balls as a people.

Lol true...Manfredo went in there knowing he was gonna lose and didnt really try to win the fight. As soon as joe started unleashing manfredo gave up and just covered up.

Calzaghe is one of my favorite fighters, Always shows a whole lot of class inside and outside the ring. As expected Manfredo showed he didn't belong in the same ring with the champ. Yes!! The stoppage was way, way premature but for once I'm glad because Manfredo would have only received a beating. Now Manfredo got a great payday, hopefully learned something and will live to fight again!!! Calzaghe gets no respect from the fans , Now everyone is saying Kessler's the man which I still can't figure out. Kessler is and awesome fighter and the match-up would be a super fight for sure. I say it'll be a close fight becase of where each fighter is in their carrers. Kessler in his prime and Calzaghe is on the back end of his. If Calzaghe fights like he did against Lacy hr wins, eoublr is when a fighter is on the twilight side of 30 you never know how each outing will go.
