I still think peter stops makseav but I think its a more difficult fight for peter then many think. fwiw,,,I agree with you on vitali vs peter. 2 or 3 yrs ago I think vitali would easilly defeat peter but being inactive for so long will ensure that his timing and reflexes will likely be off and this could prove dangerous against a young strong determined guy like peter. I'd still lean toward vitali but I will be watching nervously without a doubt if they do indeed fight

Well "inactive" can mean different things.

Was Vitali inactive in that he hasn't boxed? Yes. Although he did continue to train and spar, so he has been "active" in that respect.

so the only question is, was what he was doing prior to his comeback and what he's doing now while he's training for the winner of the Oleg/Peter fight going to be enough?

I think it will be. He's not going to just do what Wlad did to win. He's going to be intelligent enough to realize, as we all have, that Samuel is indeed improving with each fight and will conform his training to that end. He'll train for how Peter is fighting currently, not how he was fighting when Wlad fought him. So in that respect, he'll beat Peter.

Peter is nothing special but he has that big punch. He has no technical skills his footwork, balance and stamina are horrible I think Vitali will pick him apart worse then Wlad did if Maskaev doesnt do it first

maskaev will win a UD, hopefully the odds are good

sam peter just may be the most overrated fighter in boxing today...

for those who wont stop with the "peter earned it blah blah blah bull****"...

i dont think beating heavyweight james toney is worth a title shot. period.

i understand that peter "earned it" but he would have truly "earned it" if the eliminator was agianst a real heavyweight who "earned" his spot in the eliminator....

not one who tested positive for steroids and recieved the shot as a reward for breaking the rules...

Both maskaev and Vitali are in better shape physically. Samuel Peters needs to start jogging faster and stop being a lazy ****er. I heard an interview that he said that running on the beach was his first time training like that for his second fight against toney... Thats so sad, that his first training regiman such as one like that. He's definitely not as cut up looking as vitali and maskaev in my opinion. And toney has always been a blown up heavyweight, we all know that. So, those toney wins mean absolutely nothing, plus people tell me that the blown up toney beat him in the first fight but we robbed.

And they both are taller then peter. So, peter has to throw his hands up higher if he wants to land punches to their face.

Your 100% right. If Maskaev fights smart, and does not get whaled in the back of the head . Lets see how many thumps Peter gives Maskeav in th back of the coconut.
