    Gatti's next opponent is ...

According to Btalk, Gatti's next opponent is a 'contender', and literally. His opponent right now is narrowed down to two people, either Alfonso Gomez or Steve Forbes.
Thoughts? Both seem like joke fights in my opinion..i can't see arturo going out against a complete nobody..i think if he fights one of them he is planning to fight after that

Alfonso is a good guy and has alot of balls. That being said he would try to slug with Gatti and would be decapitated Joey Gamache Style. I wouldn't mind to see Gatti crucify either of these guys to cap off a great career. Go out with a win, he deserves it.

As long as he doesn’t get hurt (and wins), I couldn’t give a **** who he fights.

Oh I wouldn’t call Forbes a nobody, he was a World Champion at this (albeit at 130).

Where he was too big for the division and subsequently outgrew it like Gatti, who was also a 130 champ.

Honestly, I think Steve Forbes is too crafty to make an exciting Gatti fight. I doubt he'd slug it with Gatti and may even make him look awkward. Gomez is a perfect fight for Gatti. Gomez lacks any and all boxing technique.

But Gomez has confidence and balls. He is dumb or brave enough to trade with Gatti. It is gonna be a brutal beatdown if it happens. It would make Bonsante stand against Green look like a good performance.

The funny part is that the general public thinks the Contender guys are Rocky Balboa and Ray Leonard-esque. The hardcore boxing fan knows most of these guys are club fighters. They get exposed every other week when they're not facing Contender guys. Tune in Saturday night for another such exhibition of futility.

Yeah I agree but I think it is also good for boxing. By the way has anyone seen Manfredo Jr. lately. He may have been brutally beaten to death in Limey Land bashing Joe and telling any bloke that will listen how Peter is gonna destroy him.

I think Manfredo is a little better than a club fighter and has been improving. We will see how much he has improved on Saturday.

It will probably be Gomez but it's a fight that's not worth watching. Gomez is inexperienced and will just get the snot beat out of him by an aging Gatti. Arturo should just retire in peace.

Both entertaining fights. I think both guys are tough enough to go the distance but i dont think either of them wins.

But both guys have shown they can be entertaining so maybe they will be pretty good fights

There is no way in hell Gomez makes it the distance with Gatti. It just can't happen.
