Yeah this should be an exciting fight. Could be a few knockdowns. I think Mayorga would catch Vargas with one of his wild shots. Vargas hasn't looked good in his last two fights, but it was against Mosely would is pretty damn good. Vargas may not be shot as some people think, but for sure his best days are behind him.

You people get caught up in the "Whos the best" mentality too much. For example you saying who cares because they arent at the top, and they lost their last fights. Same mentality when Jones was gonna fight Hopkins recently. Everybody loves a fighter and then when they lose they move on to the next one and who cares about the other guy. You win some and you lose some, thats not really where the entertainment comes from, the enetertainment comes from the clash of styles and if this guys power could land against that slick southpaw, or if his speed can get past his defense etc etc

What you people forget is that we dont watch boxing to see people win, you watch boxing to see people fight, if that was the case then we wouldnt have problems with the mismatches like Mayweather vs Bruseles. You get excited when "its going to be a good fight" not when "hes going to win easy". This fight is going to be two of the guys with most machismo in the sport right now and they come to go to war each time. How can you not want to see this regardless if they lost their last fight. Watching Vargas fight Mayorga is a dream come true

Thats exactly why these days the best don't want to fight the best, cuz if they loose, they become yesterdays news who no one cares about any more. Look at poor Lacy, he had a crowd full of nuthuggers on this very site claiming how good he is - "A smaller Tyson". What happened to him after his defeat to Joe.....

So next time when you blame a fighter for not taking the high risk - low reward fights, you should realise that we as fans are partly responsible for it. We, especially in the US, are very disloyal fans.
