Hey Welter man I know Diaz is not something that really supports anything good about Gomez, but Gomez got caught cold in the first. Think about Gomez going the distance and defeating the much harder punching Oliver McCall after the Diaz fight. So Gomez can get caught cold early, but when he gets going its harder to put him away. Thats why I think Briggs early onslaught or Wlad would have the best chance to stop him.

Its hard to judge this guy. He's been real inactive and hasn't faced top competition so far at the weight, but he could be the best points fighters in the division.Ive only watched a handfull of his fights but i've liked what i saw.
Off the list i would say.
          He beats Byrd, Holy.
He has a good chance with Valuev,Oleg and Briggs. All though they are dangerous fights.
He gets beat by either Klit, Brock and Peter.

Gomez is a mental case and a drug addict.

Ok, first of all, size isn't an issue as Gomez is a 6'3''-6'4'' athlete with an 80'' reach. Second of all, how is an ordinary boxer like Calvin Brock going to beat a masterful boxer like Gomez? No disrespect to Brock, but he's just decent at everything and not great at anything. Samuel Peter? Unless Peter gets lucky with a big shot, Gomez will outbox him with little trouble. Peter is a big cumbersome clubber, the sort of fighter Gomez would have no trouble with.

Valuev was outboxed by Donald, so I'd see no reason why Gomez wouldn't make an idiot out of him. Both Klitschko's? Please. Vitali Klitschko hasn't fought in over two years, no one even knows what he will do. Right now, Juan Carlos Gomez has as good a chance as anyone to win these belts, if he is allowed the chance, IMO.
