GRADY BREWER is an IDIOT!!! As ****** as they come!

You wanna know why MANFREDO and MORA and GOMEZ are actually fairly big names in boxing?

Not because they are talented, but because they actually fought. They exposed themselves in wildly entertaining fight after wildly entertaining fight.

Shortly after Mora beat Manfredo to declare the Contender winner with over 6 million people watching, THEY FOUGHT AGAIN!!! and with an even LARGER audience watching.

What has Grady Brewer done since he won the big show? NOTHING!

What has Forbes done? He basically beat one of the hottest prospects in the sport, and clearly got robbed in the process. He's not the name Manfredo and Mora are, but at least he's more of a name then BREWER, who actually won the damn show.

How ****** can this guy be? He has basically ALREADY thrown any big payday out the window, Surfing for that big payday.

I hear he might fight Forrest... In almost 4 months from now... nobody is gonna know who he is by then. NOBODY!

That had the potential to be a pretty big fight, and the possibility to gain Brewer a very large payday... but certainly not anymore.

    the guy is an idiot.

I def agree and have thought about this more than a couple times.

Brewer is pissing his career and marketability away. He has to stay active and I'm sure that the Contender people would have matched him fairly well so their season two champion doesn't go down in flames his first fight out. Very ****** move.

I think he has overacheived soo much by winning The Contender and getting $500 000 that he might not have a lot of motivation to do much more in boxing. I like Grady Brewer, and I think it is great to see a hard working journeyman cash in while trying to provide fof his family. He might be one of the worst fighters ever to make that much money in one fight though. I think he has gotten more than he could possibly ask for so he ain't really asking for more.

Grady his had a long tough road in the brutal sport of Boxing. Maybe the guy just got his money; a well deserved payday and took care of his family. The guy was 35 at the wrap of the show. He's had some tough battles; even fought Jamaine Taylor!!!

I see that a couple of responses were that he used the championship to cash out at 500,000.

From what I've read Grady was working 12 hour shifts at times, so why not focus on boxing again and get another payday fight? If you win, repeat the process. If not, you've had a good career and made some good money.

Bottom line is Grady Brewer has more paychecks lined up if he wants it.

i do think if he wants to keep going, he' should be staying active. he's a little older than i am, when u get in your mid 30's u should be fighting as often as u can. the ring rust hurts more when u get older

As limited as the other Contenders you mentioned are, Brewer is a far less talented specimen than those guys. Brewer won the lottery and didn't cash the ticket.

Brewer is still recovering from knee surgery. He was hoping to fight Forrest on May 19, but won't be finished with rehab in time to get in fighting shape for that show. The plan is to fight Vernon once he returns.

                  Sheesh!

Grady's as nice of a guy as they come, and unlike all the other cats mentioned in the initial post, he proved a willingness to fight anyone anywhere anytime BEFORE The Contender ever came along.

And please - Mora, of all people someone willing to fight anyone?! The same Mora who turned down a shot at the middleweight title because he didn't want to fight in Memphis?!

Let me know when you get to 2007.
