    Kessler VS Mundine

Now that kesslers vacant... this fight would be a great fight, I'm not saying mundine will win but he will definetely prove himself too the world that he is on kesslers/calzaghe level.

He deserves a shot at one of the bigger boys simply because Manfredo is getting one, but the guy is not on world class level.

      He isn't, so he shouldn't.

Seriously, when on earth did Mundine become rated?

If you ask the Ring and manny others it actually goes back quite a long time.

Must be close to five years, where he's almost constantly been in the ring top-5.

Not bad for a guy you obviously think very litle of.

I can't help feeling it's got more than a little to do with the fact that he's an ex rugby player made good rather than talent, ability or, most importantly, results.

It's been a **** division for years though with only one standout fighter in the last half dozen years .... if he's been in the rankings I'd put it more down to that than anything.

I personally think you significantly underestimate the actual tallent he possesses. What makes him look so bad is getting KO'ed by Ottke and losing to Siaca.
In both cases sheer inconsistancy playes a role i believe. But there are other factors as well. Against Ottke he was extremely inexperienced for being in a championship fight. He was actually doing very well and had Ottke in all sorts of trouble. Unfortunately he allowed himself to get cought with a perfect shot to the temple.
Against Siaca (his worst loss - haven't seen it) he was supposedly severly hampered by a hamstring injury (i believe). But despite that it IS considered a poor performance - even by his fans.

With added experience i think he's becomming more consistant. He's looked impressive in his latest couple of fights. I think now more than ever before he deserves the high rankings he's getting.

Mundine's quite good but Kessler has already beaten him. He'd do it again. Calzaghe would also beat him. With those two guys in the division, Mundine is just another alphabet champ.

Mundine v Soliman looked like a light heavy against a middleweight. Soliman had nothing to hurt Mundine with.

Nah, no excuses for Soliman. He was well beaten. Mundine looked a lot bigger though, like a light heavy compared to Soliman who looked like a middle.
