What do you make of the current heavyweights - Roman Greenberg and Alexander Dimitrenko? Do they have any chance of making the heavyweight division more interesting or are they two other uninspiring heavyweights?

Dimitrenko and Greenberg
Alexander Dimitrenko impresses me. I've seen videos of several of his fights, and I think he's a genuine contender. He's easily defeated some of the tougher journeymen, like Ross Puritty, Andy Sample, Andreas Sidon, Vaughn Bean, Danny Batchelder, and Chad Van Sickle. He was successful against the previously undefeated Chris Koval and Gonzalo Omar Basile. I'd like to see him face contenders now, for example Hasim Rahman, Serguei Lyakhovich or Tony Thompson. Hopefully, he'll gets a title shot within a year or so.
I've only seen one Roman Greenberg fight, his last one. He has hardly been tested so far. Instead of fighting some of the better journeymen, his level of opposition has been consistently poor, except maybe for Alexei Varakin. He's strong and talented and so may have excellent potential, but I think his consistently fighting weak opponents may be slowing his development.Last edited by Steelhammer86; 03-31-2007, 11:45 AM. -
I've seen a few of Greenberg's fights,he has talent and decent power but he is very lazy at times and just switches off sometimes in his matches. He also isnt that big for a heavyweight.I dont see him making much of an impact to be honest.
Dont know that much about Dimitrenko, only seen a few of his fights and that was a while back.He looked like a good Europian level points fighter. He may become Europian champ but i dont see him reaching the very top, unless he has improved since the last time i saw him.Comment
