Floyd Mayweather Senior is his Dad; DNA test confirms it
Looks like Floyd Mayweather Jr who is set to face Oscar De La Hoya on May 5th has a brother he may not have known about also in the fight game. Golden Gloves boxer Justin Jones has a lot of resemblance to the famed fighting Mayweather family. Jones, 19, just a few months ago learned that Floyd Mayweather Sr. is his father.
Quoted in the Grand Rapids Press, Jones explained: "Since I was 16 and started coming up to the gym, people kept telling me I looked like a Mayweather," Jones added: "After a while, I couldn't stand it any longer -- I called him up and asked him if he'd take a DNA test." Mayweather did not run from the request but in fact was happy to provide a DNA sample.
Mayweather Sr explained: "They said it was 99.9 percent positive and that was close enough for me," Mayweather added: "We started a relationship then, but I haven't had a chance to bring him here to work with him because we've been so busy with Floyd Jr.'s fight. I plan on working with Justin a lot."
