Sorry it took so long. It took a while to type.
I just went into the living room and picked up an issue. I'll make a list of stuff it has included:
The Magazine starts out with the "Opening Shot", which is a snapshot of a punch landing. It's a different punch from a different fight every month. In the one I'm looking at, it's Matthew Hatton, Ricky's brother, slamming a right hand into Frank Houghtaling.
It then moves on to the Editor-In-Chief, and every month he writes a page on things that are happening outside the squared circle.
After that they move on to recent boxing news. In this particular issue I'm looking at, they talk about Ali, Tyson, and the death of Yvon Durelle.
That's another thing I like, they always report the deaths of big-name fighters.
Then they have a section about Televised fights from the last month. They include the fight, the division, the channel, how important it was, how good of a match-up it was, and how the bout turned out from a viewer's perspective.
What I love about that section is how humorous William Dettloff makes it. He sums up each fight with a brief, one-line statement. Like the one for Samuel Peter-James Toney II "Peter outboxes Toney; has the world gone mad?!"
Then it's the "Boxing Bookshelf", where they review recently released boxing-related books.
They have a section called "Outside The Ropes", which is pretty self-explanatory.
After that, one of my favorite writers, Jeff Ryan, has his article "Ryan Out Loud." He also includes a list of "Personal Perceptions", which is his take recent events.
And they have a section called "New Faces", which is an up-and-comer to look out for in the future.
I also have to point out how good their "New Faces" turn out to be. Some notable ones they listed in the past are:
Bernard Hopkins
Gerald McLellan
Edison Miranda.
