We may have found out sooner if Lacy had stepped up to better opposition before fighting Calzaghe. What is Lacy's best win?

I dont really know Lacys best win. You are American so maybe you should be the one to know why Lacy was expected to kill Joe? Yeah i want to know why didnt the Americans wait until Lacy beat some great opposition before saying he could put Joe six foot under?

I think a lot of people are missing the point. Basically, I think what Sin is trying to say is that if Calzaghe stays at SMW and doesnt get any superfights, he needs to fight Kessler.

Him moving up to LHW and fighting the guys there would be awesome for me. If he wants to stay at SMW and keep up his title defense streak though, he simply HAS to fight Kessler. Overrated or not, he IS the #1 threat to Calzaghe, unless some other circumstances get Calzaghe a superfight...

besides, its a fight Id like to see. Even if it is another Lacy beatdown, cause hey, that was impressive as hell, and stunned a lot of the boxing world. That kind of beatdown, if it were to happen again, would be huge for Calzaghe's career, especially against a top ranked guy.

You would have to Guess it was against Syd Vanderpool who was IBF SMW Champion...

Lacy, good fighter but appears not to be able to change style if the fight demands it. I dont think he will be a force or anything special in the future, for Joe, fighting Kessler is to prove who is the best in the divison. Lets face it, Joe wont get to fight Taylor anytime soon. DiBella will make sure of that, perhaps when Joe is 45 years old it can happen. And Hopkins is fighting in July, why not prove if he can handle Kessler, as many think he can.

Read my mind, and Syd actually boxed Lacy and did pretty well until the last few rounds.. Jeff crushed Syd's will more than anything.

What is Kessler's? Being honest, none of his wins are particularly outstanding. All of his big victories have either been made unimpressive by who else has beaten them (Mundine KOed by Ottke for ****s sake, yet goes the distance with Kessler. Beyer who couldnt beat Bika and already had a couple of uninspiring losses. Andrade who was completely untested. Lucas who has never won a decent fight...These top 5 guys are NOTHING. I'm not saying that Lacy would beat Kessler, but I am saying that the guys Kessler has fought dont hold a candle to the Jeff Lacy that Calzage fought. Kessler has no impressive wins on his resume, what he does have is impressive consistency in beating everyone put in front of him...same as Calzaghe does.

                  Oh please.

You're acting like Mikkel Kessler is Bernard Hopkins or something.

The title was vacant when they fought, but it probably is his best win. Vanderpool was able to box and frustrate Lacy for most of the fight...
