Kellerman just talked to Bob like that because Max used to work with Papa at ESPN.
So how was PAPA for HBO BAD????

Papa is a class act. It's not like he doesn't know his ****. But good idea Squarecircle, ****ing Sean would be AWESOME to have. Damn I miss the TNFComment

I liked him. He did good and he sounded like a boxing announcer. He actually was calling the fight unlike Fran Charles. Keep em!Comment

Pappas was decent. I didn't think he was leaps and bounds above Charles despite what anyone says. He was more into the action, had a better idea what was going on, but I wouldn't get on my knees just yet. I'll wait and see how he does in the future. He spent a lot of time setting up Steward and Kellerman. I'd give him a solid 'B'. Not bad by any means- but he didn't add too much to the action for me. Not like Lampley can; despite any bias he shows.Comment

Papa seemed to blend pretty well with the "Boxing After Dark" commentary crew. He seemed out of place to start but once the fight started he was all over it, setting Kellerman and Steward up for some pretty good follow-ups. I'd still rather have Sean O'Grady but Papa seemed to fit well.
He'll grow on me, just as Kellerman did during his initiation phase.Comment

i think that papa did very good for his first time with the BAD crew... I really enjoyed the telecast as a whole, the barrera-marquez fight was very good for the first fight and then the kessler fight was very enjoyable as wellComment
