Erik Morales Vs. David Diaz - PPV on July 15th

Plans are in the works for former three-division world champion Erik Morales to try to add a world title in a fourth division to cap his illustrious career. Morales will likely face WBC lightweight champion David Diaz on July 15 in an HBO-PPV bout in either Chicago or San Antonio. Morales said he will begin training for the bout in early April at his usual location in the Otomi Mountains of Mexico. Morales also couldn't resist taking a shot at rival Marco Antonio Barrera, pointing out that his last bout in Las Vegas against Manny Pacquiao drew 17,000 fans, while Barrera-Marquez drew about 8,000. "...this indicates that the people know who is who in the ring and who offers the greater show," said El Terrible.

Too bad its gonna be on PPV, but I will probably watch it since this might be the end for El Terrible. I would to see this great warrior going out on a good note.

I think it's a fight that Morales could win.I would love to see him go out on top.But if he looks like a monster against Diaz, then we all know he probadly won't retire.

Morales should win. And boy...he really does hate Barrera.

Sometimes fighters DO age overnight: Roy Jones Jr., James Toney, and many-many others.

IMO Morales, who is now 1-4 in his last 5 fights, has too reached that physical and mental state.

I hope we dont see Barerra v. Marquez again, I thought the result was clear and Barerra should move on.

Now...if Im Marquez I would want Morales just out of principle but it would probably (it would) also land him an even bigger payday then he recieved against MAB.

Sure the Pac fight is the one everyone wants but smack Erik around make a well deserved long overdue payday and that Pac fight is still right there for you.

I will have a tough time paying $45 to watch a legend trying to pad his bank account.
