I watch his fight with byrd again last week, and he did a good job against byrd and he landed loads of shots on a prime fast moving byrd. i do think he could have at least held one of the titles and would have keept people intrested in the heavys as he was exciting to watch, but all you can realy say about him is a massive waste of talent.

he was overrated in my opinion. he was a strong solid heavyweight and had some skills no doubt but he only had 20 fights and 15 stoppages. he was somewhat untested. chris byrd was just too small and we know how one dimensional and beatable tua is and that fight was very close,,,,I had it a draw. lewis would have knocked him out or won a lopsided decision as long as he came in focused to fight ikeComment

lol,,,,,byrd never said that. he actually said Ike was slow and that he just got ****** and careless against the ropes and got caught. byrd never gave ike any credit in there fightComment

I think you are talking about the Tua of today that throws like 3 punches a round. The Tua back then threw combos & was a lean 228 lbs back then. That fight was supposed to be a showcase fight for Tua but ended being a good heavyweight fight.he was overrated in my opinion. he was a strong solid heavyweight and had some skills no doubt but he only had 20 fights and 15 stoppages. he was somewhat untested. chris byrd was just too small and we know how one dimensional and beatable tua is and that fight was very close,,,,I had it a draw. lewis would have knocked him out or won a lopsided decision as long as he came in focused to fight ikeComment

yea,,,,tua was much better then,, no doubt,,,but he still showed vulnerability. maskeav around the time had only 12 fights and was beating tua through 10 rounds till he got caught late. anyway,,the tua ike fight was very close and could have went either way. I still think ike was solid and a very good heavyweight but I just think it was way premature to be talking like he would be the next king of the division. I have doubts that he'd be a dominating champion. I think boxers such as lewis would have beat him from the outside. he looked vulnerable to a good boxer puncher with a good jabComment

i just watched tua and ike on espn classic last week, i was happy as hell to see that it was on..... as far as scoring goes, ibeabuchi clearly won the fight and really busted tuas ass up with the jab down the backstretch.
its ironic that ibeabuchi turned out to be a total nutcase, becuase the thing that struck me watching that fight was how composed and determined ike was... he did everything he needed to do to win the fight. if tua hit him with a jab he hit him with two back.. if two threw two punches, ike threw three... ikes corner was a bunch of morons who acted like theyd never seen a fight before... never really gave him useful advice yet he executed a very precise fight plan from about round 6 forward....
ike layed a blueprint on how to whoop tuas ass, i bet a lot of guys such as lennox felt a lot more confident about fighting tua after seeing what ike had done...
the broadcast is funyn cause kellerman and whoever the hell else is doing it must say "i cant believe it yadda yadda yadada" about 100 times cause they cant believe ibeabuchi is winnin the damn fightComment

LOL, yeah he did say it. It was when Ike was up for parole a couple of years ago. Byrd's exact words were "Ike would've walked right through Lewis." Yer talking about what Byrd was saying right after the fight. Byrd never gave any of his opponents credit, but he did say that.Comment

welll,,,if he did say it his opinion means nil considering he never even fought lewis. of course he's going to say that to make himself look better becuase ike beat himLOL, yeah he did say it.
