more than likely will not happen. there have plenty of one-dimensional fighters, who were much younger than kimbo who even after a long run of grappling training looked clueless on the ground. it's the same as alot of these olympic wrestlers and judoka that went over to pride. after months of boxing and kickboxing training they still resorted to turtling up into a shell like elementary school kids the second they ate a punch for the first time in their lives. hell, i wouldn't be surprised if ray mercer and his high school wrestling credentials is more than enough to thwart whatever kimbo could dish out on the ground. why? cus in the end, fighters will always fall back on what they were originally bred to do. kimbo has nothing to offer other than his fists, which pale in comparison to mercer. and i'm willing to bet that mercer even at his old age, has a bigger gas tank than kimbo. forget all this "ooo, he's been training at freestyle fight academy for a couple months" bs, it won't make a difference.

i agree...it takes years to develop instinctual moves, things you do but dont think about.....grappling by numbers from a couple of months training isn`t going work.Comment

This is gonna be some funny ****. Mercer's gonna ****in kill him. Remember that fight when Slice fought that cop? He got his ass handed to him, and as that was with his crew piling in every time the cop landed a knee or started grappling. His crew ain't gonna be there this time, and Mercer is a damn sight better than any cop. This is gonna be a humbling experience for Kimbo, and his ego and his status is all gonna be shot to ****.

Kimbo will get destroyed by the majority of the heavies out there at the moment, cant see him lasting more than a minute with Mercer. Will be fun to watch though.Comment

the cop that kimbo lost to was sean gannon, a golden gloves champ... he says kimbo has good boxing skills and a great chin... of course he's not on mercer's level, but then mercer is pretty old and this isnt a boxing match either, MMA rules... i give mercer the advantage, but kimbo could have a chanceComment

All I know is.
The sound Mercer's fist will make with the 3 oz gloves will be nasty. Kimbo is going to be unconscious once the first exchange takes place.
