Only if Tito hit him in the nuts first.

Dude, Gomez had issues with drugs...fact. DLH too gave a "clinic" How to jog really fast backwards! It was Tai Bo for gay men with a lisp. Hahaha

DLH: "Damn it gosh! I gave him a clinic! Argh!!!"

        Tito: "Que pendejo"

Well didnt like when Tito beat Pernell, one of my favorit fighters. But it was clear Pernell was past his best, he was no longer able to fight like when he was younger and was coming of a long layoff. No way Pernell would have stayed still and exchanced shots with Tito in his prime, as he mostly did in there fight.

I wouldn't say that De La Hoya completely outclassed Trinidad, but he certainly had the fight won before he got on his bike in the last few rounds. Had De La Hoya imposed himself in those last few rounds then i think there would be more grounds for stating that he outclassed Trinidad.

I know alot of people talk about low blows in this bout, but I wonder why I never hear about the thumbing/raking that Vargas did on Trinidad's right eye in the 3rd round. Vargas had done nothing until that very instant where Trinidad started picking at that eye and Vargas even seemed to smirk like he knew what happened. Trinidad finished that fight with that right eye affected and closed up, fought with 1 eye, strange for someone who never really cut or swollen up before. Then reports that he had problems with that eye even after retirement. Both guys landed low blows, some borderline and in no way did that determine the fight, ridiculous..simply the better man won.

I agree with you Joe. DLH was slappy-the-jogger that night. Vargas had ZERO chance of beating Tito on any night forever. He may have snarled and acted like a vato, but int he end, Tito was superior in every way.
