    Klitschko-Brewster Rematch in Trouble?

Last week, it was reported that IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and Lamon Brewster were in talks for potential rematch in the summer. Brewster has not fought since last April when he lost his WBO title to Sergei Liakhovich. Suffering a serious eye injury, Brewster was forced to sit on the sidelines. He is now healthy and ready to return. [details]

Heh, the writer's dancing all around the real reason for Brewster entertaining Krasniqi offers over Wlad. Brewster wants to cash in on BOTH, but he's far less likely to defeat Wladimir again, even he knows that, and he has to win the first to cash the second, so the order he wants is Krasniqi first, then title shot against Wlad would be HUGE in Germany. 2 paydays are better than 1, all day every day.

Brewster knows he will get torn up by Klitschko thats why he doesnt want none of him he never wanted to give Wlad a rematch even when he was champ knowing that Wlad will brutally beat him down if they ever fought again. Its a ****** thing to do to go in the ring with Klitschko after such a long lay off due to injury, even Krasniqi can beat Brewster at this point. Brewster needs to take on some meaningless fights at the moment and then work his way up from there cause otherwise its doom for him...

Exactly what I thought when I read it...what's wrong with Brewster using Kransniqi as leverage to get more money from K2? Simple business...and I hope he gets more money and fights Wlad.

Wlad's only potential fight in the near future for unification is Valuev (Briggs and Maskaev are fighting June 2), but I guess he thinks dealing with Don King is prohibitive of that fight (even though it was widely discussed a couple of weeks ago).

I hope they try to make a fight with Valuev before going to Brewster as a fall-back option. But it looks like they are trying to head off a unification fight at the pass by signing to fight Brewster and thus eliminating any unification possibilities until the winter...

I'd be happy to see Wlad destroy any of the belt holders, don't care which one he goes for first.. Too bad Don King is the chief ****er up of heavyweight boxing.

I read the interview with someone from Valuev's team where they said that Don King will not be Valuev's promoter after his fight with Chagaev. They also said that if Wlad wants to make the fight happen, he needs to contact Sauerland directly, Don King will not have anything to do with Valuev.

yeah it's a good idea for Brewster to take another fight and get that ring rust off of him after his layoff from his eye injury. I would like to see a rematch with him and Wlad. So we can see how much better Wlad has gotten.
