    CompuBox at Ringside: Marquez-Barrera

Prior to his long-awaited showdown vs. Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera was asked where he rated himself among the greatest Mexican fighters. He placed himself fifth, behind Salvador Sanchez, Julio Cesar Chavez, Ruben Olivares and surprise, his hated rival Erik Morales. (with apologies to Carlos Zarate, Alfonso Zamora, Carlos Palomino and Lupe Pintor) [details]

    We'll see what's up.

I honestly don't think they've seen the best of JMM yet. I'll laugh when people keep their poker face fixated on the screen in shock his next few fights.

Beating that game of an M.A.B. like that, just lights the pilot.

I thought it was obvious enough on Sat night tht Barrera had slowed down a lot and that Marquez has lost a bit also. I mean his chin has got to be questioned now...........Barrera isnt a big hitter at superfeather!

And im really not sure what you mean when you say "like that"!!! That fight was fairly close mate.......everyone is pretty much agreed that Marquez SHADED it! But no more than that!

The pacman that fought Morales last time out would crucify Marquez.........and I wouldnt have said that prior to the Barrera fight! Im a JMM fan, always have been and I think he won the first PAC fight! But I think he is on the down now like Barrera!

well I am not sure how anyone else had the fight, but I had it in favor of marquez by 2 points, the 7th round I scored 9-8 for marquez, it would have been a 9-9 since barrera was losing but he did knock down Marquez and lets not forget the 1 point that naddy took away
