    O'Neill Bell, what a warrior

There are many things wrong with O'Neil Bell. He has sparse defense. He gives away rounds. Some have claimed he has china in the beard. But one thing that cannot be taken from him is his courage; The man has cantoulopes in his trunks.

After the Braithwaite fight, everyone was big on Mormeck. Why not? He had just beat up the best fighter in the division. Mormeck was the steamroller that had crushed the Big Truck. What chance would Bell, who had stolen one from a used up Dale Brown have with the French Adonis?

After having won their first encounter by way of frightening KO, Bell went to France and defended once more with Mormeck. If you look at Mormeck's physique, you would assume that Bell would need to run all night tp survive. Instead, it was Mormeck who was in need of a place to hide most of the night. In another all action war, Bell came up just short in his opponent's hometown, acquiescing his belts. But in the process, earned a great deal of respect from this pundit.

What ever happened to Bell's weak beard? He's estimated that he'd been down 8 times in his career, but can walk through all hell from Mormeck? Maybe he's employing some of his countryman Livingstone Bramble's secret elixirs?....

oneill bell must have some of that sepcial granite china, man he can take a pounding

i feel for him, i scored the fight 115-113 for mormeck, but i know if i were bell i would be disgusted, on principle, by the fact that i just lost to a guy who did nothing but run for the past 3 rounds.

mormeck had too box in the later rounds and run sometime. he fought the second half a a much higher pace than bell, he could go on for 12 rounds

I disagree, Bell had considerably more left in the tank. Bell isn't as heavily muscled as Mormeck, Mormeck does way too much weight lifting for a boxer. In neutral commissions, the fighter who looks like he could win the 13th round usually gets the decision.

i dind't say that bell stamina is worse, i said, that mormeck was fighting at a much higher pace, so he need too box an the end. and bell is a very dirty fighter as i noticed in fight 1, and that was confirmed in the second bout.

Mormeck looked far too big (his chest/shoulders) for 200. That has to affect his stamina. Audley Harrison had a similar problem, as did Rahman, and Briggs too.

I know the heavies want to be big to compete with the giants, but hasn't there been enough anecdotal evidence to suggest you should watch how much bulk you put on up top?

AS - you're a boxing writer right. It doesn't matter who will win the 13th round, it matters who has the most points by the scoring system in operation. By that system JMM won.

              Good thread by the way.

i thought MORMECK dominated the fight, and knowing he was gonna win the fight if he stood up, he gave away the final rounds.

I thought Bell showed outstanding courage and will power, to stand upright that long, But mormeck seemed fresh until rounds 6 or 7.

Bell seemed out on his feet after round 3.

The third fight will be the best of all.

But, who said Bell had China in the Chin? Did u see some of the shots Bell took????

They BOTH fougth out of character, Bells chin was unbelievabe, and the usually not a huge puncher in mormeck, was a devestating puncher in that fight.

That was a WAR from round 1

Most exciting fighter in the sport today IMO, surpasses Arce now.

You can't teach size and that makes for a more interesting fight. Nothing has ever, or will ever beat a good HW fight and that was close to it.

O'Neil Bell is the ****ing man.
I expect him to win a rematch.
It looked like he had ring rust and I think he may have expected to walk over JMM.
