They probably had a rematch clause in the contract. The deal for the rematch was as good as done as soon as soon as the contract for the first fight was signed. It was funny when Merchant said at the start of the fight "is it too early to ask for a rematch". They are both with the same promoters, and it makes for a terrific exciting fight.

As far as I'm concerned there is probably going to be a trilogy. Pacquiao made a really ****** decision not going with Golden Boy. Now his two biggest paydays are locked up fighting each other for probably three fights since they are with Golden Boy, and Pac is on the sidelines despite being the champ.

I'd like to see a Rematch. It was a close fight, very close.

I dont see why not. It was a close fight, and would be a huge money fight. Barerra is taking a vacation though so it might not happen until after the Pac/JMM rematch.

Pac has never seen a contract he didn't sign......remember marquez was with arum and his career went no where ..as you can see with margarito....now pac is stuck with Arum.....he'll eventually get his chance in 5 or 6 years,,,,,

At the post fight press conference HBO was touting September for the rematch. Barrera can take off a few months and still have time to train if that was the case. I think it's a good idea. Why leave any question? Even if a slight majority think the decision was fair there are many of us who think it was too close to end there. A rematch for a definitive conclusion is necessary.

how close is close? 116-111 score? jmm really outpointed, outclassed mab, his pride will tell him he doesn't need to fight jmm again. just accept the fact that he's a done fighter.

After his vacation Barrera needs to get his ass back in the gym and work like an animal. It seemed to me that Marquez wanted it more last night.
