    Disqualify Barrera!

The rules of boxing are very clear, hitting a man when he is down is illegal. Roy Jones was once disqualified for that infraction and Barrera should have been disqualified too. Taking a knee and the obligatory 8 count becomes very dangerous if somebody is going to hit you. There is no excuse for this sort of behaviour. Barrera is a top professional and allowing him to get away with it sends the wrong message.

by that rationale, every fighter who commits a foul should automatically be DQd. jones was DQd because griffin could not continue after the illegal punch. marquez could continue and so only a point was deducted.

dont even bother with this "message sending" bull****. boxing is so full of morons and crooks that whatever message you think might get sent, never reaches anybody in boxing.

I agree to an extent but Nady didn't step in and call anything until Barrera was already hitting him. It's partially Barrera's fault and the majority of the blame should go to Nady, Barrera was just doing what he was supposed to do.

According to the rule, the fighter should be DQ if his opponent is down and he hits him.

But do you really want to see the fight end that way. As far as last nights fight, hell no.

Barrera is one of the greatest fighters of all time, but unfortunately he has a bad habit of getting cranky in the ring. If great fighters are allowed to get away with these things, lesser fighters will expect the same treatment. Go down that road then sooner or later boxing will get as ****** and incompetent as UFC.

i know where your coming from but its the human condition and a proffesional boxer like barrera should of been able to reel himself back in but he didnt and he made a light swat and got a point taken.
a fair responce by the ref.
