7th round kd - vid

Remember, it's just one guy and he can't have PERFECT position every second of every round. Sometimes his view will be obstructed by the fighter's bodies.
Case in point: the 7th round of this fight. I can see how Nady could've been in such a position that it looked like Marquez swung on Barrera, missed the shot, and his momentum took him to the ground. It certainly wouldn't be the first time in boxing that a fighter throws a punch so hard that, when he fails to connect with his opponent, he spins himself around or goes to the ground. I've even seen a fighter break his ankle doing this.
We have the luxury of multiple angles but Nady doesn't.
BTW, I had Marquez up 115-112 at the end of the fight. If that round were scored correctly, it would've been a 9-8 round for Marquez (I thought Marquez clearly carried the round and won 2:45 of it. I would give him 10 points minus 1 for the KD = 9 and Barrera would get 9 for losing the round minus 1 for the point deduction). That would make my final score 114-112 for Marquez, hardly a big deal. So, the official scores would've been 117-109, 115-111, 115-111. Again, not much of a difference here.
I don't like Nady as a ref, he's almost as bad as Kenny Bayless, but a ref cannot be perfect, either. I think this is an argument for instant replay. This is how it would work: in between rounds, the guy who usually begins the count on the side of the ring, I'm sure you guys have seen him, will look at the film and make a determination. If he determines KD, the official scorecards would be changed to reflect this (1 point deducted from the party that was KD but the fighter left standing's card would not change). That way, you just subtract 1 point from the final score of the fighter who ended up on the canvas.Comment

If that were the case, he wouldn't had deducted a point from the scorecards, cause the point he lost from the KD would have been enough, IMHO opinion he lost 2 points that round, one for the kd which was an obvious kd and wasn't scored as such, & another for the obvious foul, I mean the guy was on the ground, as always Barrera is a heated fighter, & he took that shot with bad intentions. Here's how I interpreted it:
Nady ELECTED to discount Barrera's KD in light of his foul.
I don't know his motive but he grabbed Barrera without issuing a count to Marquez without hesitation.
Referee's sometimes choose to see what they see.
Barrera ****ED UP.
Why foul the guy?
WHY????
He had a KD.
That was ****** on Barrera's part, and at the time COULD have cost him the fight.
Dumb move from a smart fighter.Comment
