Yeah he kind of has that volume punching version of Kermit Cintron's style going on. I suppose it's his lanky/boxy physique in coalition with his total lack of punching coordination. He's a work horse though, 1400 punches.
Yeah Rafa would knock him out in the first or second round.
Why are you calling him the running man, when he threw 1400 punches at Penalosa and outworked him in the second half of the fight?
It doesn't matter if all of them don't land. De Leon out landed Penalosa by two times and built up enough of a lead to secure that.
Throwing 1 nifty counter, admiring your work and being 1 and done is not the way to win rounds in boxing. There are too many of these Jr Joel Casamayor enthousiasts that go overboard with this accurate punching bull****.
It's like watching "Streetball" and "Hot Sauce". That mother ****er does 1 nifty move and then throws the ball in the crowd. What a joke.

I will never score for flashy bull****.
YES THREW 1400 PUNCHES BUT LANDED TO GERRY'S ARMS, GLOVES AND THEN RUNAWAY IN THE LAST THREE ROUND. GERRY LANDED MUCH AND CLEARER PUNCH THAN HIM. MAYBE GERRY LOSSES IN THE EYE OF THAT BLIND JUDGES BUT NOT THAT SCORING.

He landed twice as many punches, and based on Marquis de Queensbury rules and the 10 point must system you have to consistently win rounds. It doesn't matter how cleanly he landed, he was inconsistent and was losing 3/4 of every single round outside of where he landed a couple of clean shots when De Leon was lapsing.
You can't give the round to Penalosa for landing 1 punch. Especially if De Leon was landing virtually 2 to his 1.
There was no clean shot for de Leon. Not one. The decision was totally crap. You don't score points for landing on gloves or hitting air as long as you're working.
And you don't lose because you snap your opponent's head back every time.
