we kinda suspected that after the hopkins decision. my fear of penalosa losing to a decision became very apparent. but a 119 - 109, 120 - 108 for de leon was ****in ridiculous.

ponce was backing down and bicycling in the last 3 rounds, and he got tagged by gerry in the middle rounds.

      sad day for boxing

Penalosa deserved a few more rounds in my opinion than he got. I still think he clearly lost though, not that bad this one.

Then I found the Barrera-Marquez score ridiculous. I wasnt sure who was going to win, I could have seen it a few points either way. I scored it 7 rounds to 5 for Barrera and the knockdown was clearly a legit knockdown. Barrera then stood there waiting for the referree to come between them and when it didnt happen after he clearly waited he threw another punch. I understand he hit him when he was down and im not trying to justify it but im pointing out what most likely was the situation in Barrera's point of view. Close fight, great fight, I think Barrera deserved it.

The bad refereeing and judging ruined this PPV for me.
I COULDNT BELIEVE IT EITHER.. I THOUGHT BARERRA WAS BRILLIANT THE WAY HE HANDLED MARQUEZ...COUNTER BETTER BOXED BETTER AND SLUGGED BETTER .. MARQUEZ WAS JUST MORE AGRESSIVE BUT HE DID HAVE A COUPLE MOMENTS

i had 115-113 for barrera, i thought it was his fight and got screwed out of a knockdown. jay nady never makes mistakes but that was a big one. the judges were garbage tonight also. ridiculous.

I had Barrera won 7 rounds to 5, but it can go either way. But the scores is ridicolous.

Forbes is a robbery, but Demtrius has an advantage. No its not his height or boxing skills. Its called "Uncle BHOP".

As far as Ponce vs Gerry. I had PDL won, but the scores are biased. Gerry should have at least 4 rounds, might be even 5. When HBO showed who the judges in this fight(Giampa, Moretti, and Vasquez), i already knew Gerry will lose. Even if Gerry threw more punches and connected more than PDL, he will still lose.

I actually saw D-Hop winning over Forbes by a point, but the scores for that fight were rediculous it was a 1-2 point advantage for either at most.

I didn't score PDL- Penalosa but i had PDL winning by a few points.

I had Marquez beating Barrera by a point, once again the scores were rediculous but i think they got the winner right in all of the fights.

Marquez won the fight by landing harder shots and coming forward more and just being overall more active. From the 5th round until that strange 7th I had Marquez on the up. Maybe the scores could have been a lil closer but I dont see how anyone can say MAB won that. Also in my mind MAB needed a KO in the 12th to win.

I think the varying scores people had on here clearly show what a close fight the MAB/JMM fight was. I wouldn't have complained if either fighter had won it, as it was so close. What I couldn't believe is how clear cut they had. I was fully expecting a split decision but for someone to score it 118-109 is incredible.
I'm not surprised PDL won so big. The sheer number of punches he throws will clearly catch the eye of the judges.
Hopkins winnning so big was a joke as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the fact that a) He's undefeated b) Is Bernard's brother and c) A Golden Boy fighter swung it for him.
What annoys me so much is that this comes after last Saturdays show in Liverpool, in which it transpires 2 judges failed to mark down the 2 points deducted for Derry Matthews and M'baye getting a very lucky draw against Kotelnik.
It is easy to think that sometimes judges have decided the winner even before the fight starts.

horrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible ****in judges. and the ref WTF, how did he not see the 7th round knockdown, that was BULL****. i think the main event was really close, some rounds were hard to score, i had barrerra winning the first 4 rounds, then the 7th shoulda been 9-8 for him, and he won at least one more round after that... so he def shouldnt have lost, but with the ref's big **** up, and barrerra's **** up to hit marquez when he was on the floor.. cost him big... and marquez did look good, from the 5th round he really started to turn it on, and by the 7th he had him hurt bad, he landed tons of huge left hooks and uppercuts and right hands, by far he landed the bigger shots... im curious to see the final punchstat numbers for that fight, it was too close to call, i woulda made it a draw, if the ref didnt F-up, and barrerra didnt hit him while he was down and got that 10-8 round, he woulda won the fight... well at least in my eyes, the judges woulda gave it to marquez either way..so thats wack. horrible scoring, fire those ****in judges lol

                    but wow

                    118-109 WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
how the hell did one judge come to that conclusion. ******ED

im sure ill have another post about the forbes fight once i see it, i heard that was a bigger scoring problem then this main event.

The judging was terrible but that was the worst of them all, Forbes clearly won that fight.
