Krasniqi not Schulz' avenger!
By Karl Freitag
Heavyweight Luan Krasniqi (29-2-1, 14 KOs) knows what it's like to be in the pressure cooker. As a German, fighting for the world heavyweight championship in Germany on Max Schmeling's 100th birthday is about as intense as it gets. Tonight inside a packed Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart, Krasniqi's fight with Brian Minto (27-1, 16 KOs) is being viewed in some quarters as a highly charged grudge match to take vengeance for Minto's recent KO win over Axel Schulz, which derailed the German icon's comeback attempt. Krasniqi, however, isn't buying into it. "I have no contact with Schulz," he said. "To me, nothing lies further than wanting to be his avenger." More important to the WBO #5 rated Krasniqi is a getting a win over the #15 ranked Minto to move closer to a second world title shot.
