    Minto vs Krasniqi

Anyone hear interested in this one? Alot of people have discounted Minto as a 'club fighter' and as a result don't expect much from him in this fight. IMO, this will be a closer fight than expected as Minto has some momentum coming into this fight from his big career win over Axel Schulz in Germany last fall. He's also fought much more frequently than Krasniqi in the past year and has a great work ethic and "blood 'n guts" attitude.

My prediction: Minto will out work and wear down Krasniqi throughout the fight leading to a late round TKO.

    Thoughts/predictions?

I POSTED THIS A COUPLE DAYS, so its just a copobviously entering this weekend all or most boxing discussion will center on two excellent matchups, JMM and MAB and the renatch of Bell/Mormeck

being overshadowed is an intriguing croassroads fight taking place overseas in the sausage filled country of germany...

up and coming heavyweight Brian Minto appears to be the first of the prospects to decide its time to put up or shut up... minto is facing former world title challenger Luan Krasniqi, in germany no less, in a fight that looks on paper like an easy UD for the tough, durable luan the lion of "i was beatin lamon brewster till i got the living **** knocked out of me" fame

on paper luan is the wienshnitzel and minto is the spatzel

but not so fast my friends....

this guy is predicting a good old fashioned upset, minto comes into today as +300 at my bookie and i say he is worth a decent wager... why do you ask?

    CASE FOR MINTO:
    1. took fight against axel schulz in germany, knocked him out, so the location will not intimidate him....
    2. has shown that he himself is durable and can carry power into the later rounds... reference final round left hook bomb KO of maddalone
    3. has fought more recently and against better comp than luan.
    4. if he takes this fight he must know something about himself that we dont
    5. Cause i like the guy.... taking back to back fights again shulkz and krasniqi both in germany just shows that this guy has the sack to go out a limb and earn his pay

    CASE AGAINST LUAN:
    1. Hasnt fought in a year
    2. coming off a knee injury, mobility will certainly be limited, which is worst case scenarion aganst a ****er like minto
    3. hasnt fought a legit opponent since being knocked out.....
    4. has avoided tony thompson and chosen minto instead.. why??

Minto by TKO9! you heard it here firsty/paste from another thread

i think were on the same page Boston

though as i said before, if krasniqi shows up rejuvenated and fights like the same guy who was beating brewster a wide UD is almost guaranteed.

i just believe krasniqi is on his way down, minto on his way up, and im taking the guy with the career momentum and desire to take tough fights... as krasniqi clearly went out of his way to step down to brian minto, when he should be fighting tony thompson

I think Minto is techniclly sound, and expect him to pick up a decision.
He has a very nice jab, but his only problems occur when he relies on this jab too heavily.

i agree, i was rewatching his fight with schulz.... everyone expected that schulz would be able to outjab minto... but brian showed some very solid side to side movement with his head to avoid and get inside of the jab... when he gets inside he knows what to do....

he also instinctively saw the opportunity to end the fight and capitalized quickly letting his hands go knowing he could take shots from the softened schulz in exchange for getting him out of there

So you believe that Krasniqi is too old to box or too ****** to move? That is Minto's only chance.

I'm not too sure how much Minto has, but Krasniqi is a good technical boxer. His only downfall was taking his eye off the ball against Brewster.

I agree that he's technically sound but the fight's in Germany where Krasniqi is the 'home town' favorite. Point, if its a close fight and it goes to the scorecards, then I think Krasniqi will get the UD. If you check out Minto's website, he knows this fact, and is going into the fight with the mindset that he has to KO Luan.
