Racial stereotypes are still very prevelent in sports. Casual fans expect a white heavyweight champ to be weak just like they expect black quarterbacks to run like Vick. Not since Marciano has there been a white heavyweight champion if Im not mistaken. There was Morrison, but that was a WBO strap not THE championship.

Then patriotism comes into factor, which is why if Peter were to take everyone out I dont think he would catch on well with the fans.
I do think people are slowly starting to catch on with Wlad though. I heard his name mentioned a few times on ESPN the week leading to the fight.

My roommate doesn't give a **** about boxing. Jermain Taylor, Floyd Mayweather- honestly even Berto and Williams and the new guys- I can't get him to want to watch any of them, really. Yet he happened to see Klitschko own Chris Byrd the second time. He liked that. Then he saw Brock fall on his face- he liked that, too. Now he always wants to watch Klitschko and says that is his favorite fighter, etc. He's seen other knockouts, too, he apparently likes that he is humble, intelligent and yet powerful. How is that bad for the sport?
