**** that, Maddolone doesnt deserve to even be mentioned in the same paragraph as a legend like Holyfield let alone fighting him. I hope Holyfield beats him because Vinny doesnt deserve the right to say he has a win over Holyfield. Plus I wouldnt mind seeing Holyfield get his shot and then whatever happens he'll be happy and retire.

on paper this looks like a showcase for holyfield

but you gotta wonder everytime evander steps in the ring if it could be his last.... he would not be the first ATG to lose to a club fighter

this should be an exciting fight, the bell will ring, theyll meet in the middle, and neither guy is going to take a step back...

holyfield... probably not taking his roids anymore... could quite possibly just be physicaly overwhelmed by a younger strogner guy.

evander is the guy who lost every roung to larry donald and though maddalone is probably not quite as good as oquendo the style makes the fight and maddalone has a better shot of beating evander IMO

im not making my final prediction till the weigh in figures are up

to tell the truth madalone is not gonna get a great pay day for this fight. The fight was first to be against brian minto and he turned it down due to the lackluster pay he would have recieved, brian was trained from an amatuer by my grandfather till he got to about his twentieth pro fight.he came out of the same gym i train at.

I agree with Hitman, this should be an exciting fight because Maddalone isn't known for his defensive prowess and will be 'going for broke' in the hopes he'll land some lucky punches. Also, an article I read on ESPN, is reporting that Vinny is training for the 'fight of his life' and has a "rocky" mentality going into this fight.

My prediction: expect some exciting exchanges early on before Holyfield settles down and starts to pick apart Maddalone's shabby defense and put the hammer down. Should end in the mid rounds as the referee stops the fight because of the punishment Vinny is taking.

All-in-all, I think this shapes up to be an entertaining fight.

Im rootin for Maddalone for 3 reasons

1: Guys like him give it there all everytime out and deserve a break sumtimes

2: It should convince Evander it REALLY IS time to quit! (before he gets hurt!)

3: Holyfield has been pissin me off lately!

That said Evander Holyfield even at his advanced age and after all his wars should still be enough to stop Vinny

i am the kind of fan that would rather see a great fight between 2 decent fighters than a decent fight between two great fighters.. so im loking forward to this one...

as to your statement about giving it all... maddalone will never "get" a break, hes gonna have to "make" one....

the sad thing is if maddalone beats holyfield don king will probably give him a title shot against valuev and the poor guy will get mauled, but i guess hed double his career earnings in the process
