********: Assess your performance against Green, how do you feel you did?
Miranda: "I felt very strong and my condition was perfect. Green is a talented fighter and I wanted to show quickly who the boss in the ring was going to be so I took control early. I went a little away from traditional boxing to confuse him. I am happy with my performance."
********: How do you regard Green's punching power? Is he a big puncher in your opinion?
Miranda: "I heard he is a big puncher but he never hit me with anything to prove it. I think he was scared to throw a punch and get countered. The hit he knocked me down with was nothing. I was a little off balance."
********: You went down for the first time in your career in the eighth. Were you hurt, and how did it effect you mentally to be on the canvas for the first time?
Miranda: "No I wasn't hurt at all. I popped right up and my mind told me to go after this guy harder than ever, just like Tito used to do. If anything, I think it hurt Green, because I came back into the fight even angrier."
********: Many in the sport questioned your chin before this fight, but you went 10 rounds with a guy regarded as a big puncher. What does that say about your toughness?
Miranda: "I have no concerns with my chin. I'm a puncher and I need to be prepared to take a shot every now and then. I have taken some shots and proven that they don't bother me. As for Allan Green, I took some shots from him but nothing hard. Like I said, I think he was a little scared to exchange with me so he maybe he didn't throw his hardest punch that frequently. The punches I did take were nothing for me."
********: In the tenth round, you went all out in search of the knockout, and damn near got it. Did you feel that you needed to show the world that even though you were fighting a well-regarded opponent, that you still were a big puncher?
Miranda: "Yes, I like to give the boxing fan their money's worth. There are too many boring fighters out there who dance around and win on decisions. People want to see the days of Mike Tyson and all the knockouts, so I try to give them that. I naturally go for the knockout when I think I have my opponent hurt and I really wanted to give Puerto Rico a show. I came close - some people think it should have been a TKO."
********: What do you think of Allan Green as a fighter now?
Miranda: "I think he has a lot of skill because I saw a lot of his tape. I just think he was scared to fight me because of my power and I don't blame him. Against me, he will look bad as will anyone else. I think he will do very well in his career."
********: How did it feel to be competing in front of your adopted country of Puerto Rico in a big fight?
Miranda: "I loved it. I love Puerto Rico and I wanted to give them a show. I think I did. I hope I can return to fight in PR soon."
********: Rumors are circulating that your next opponent will be Kelly Pavlik. What do you think of Kelly Pavlik as a fighter?
Miranda: "I think that Pavlik must have some talent since he is a professional fighter and has no losses, but I also think he is at a completely different level than me. I will prove that if I fight him."
********: The current middleweight champion is Jermain Taylor, as well know. Do you still want him and what are your feelings about his merits as a champion?
Miranda: "I want to fight JT badly. I don't think he's deserving of being the champion. A champion should be someone who people respect. How can you respect a man who hand picks his opponents just to get easy wins. And even with this, he still can't knock them out. He will have a lot of problems when he faces me. He knows this and that's why he's staying away from me. But, soon I will get my chance with this kid."
********: How good does it feel to be succeeding at this level in the sport now, after all that you've been through? When you found out that you had won a big fight that would open up many financial doors, were you elated?
Miranda: "Yes I'm happy. But I knew this was going to happen. God wanted for me to box and he gave me the skills to do so. I knew I was going to have this success when I started and anything else would not have been acceptable."
********: Winky Wright is another big name opponent at middleweight. Would you be open to fighting him as well and what is your opinion of him as a fighter?
Miradna: "I would fight Winky tomorrow if he would take the fight. I'm not scared to fight anyone. I think he's a very skilled fighter defensively but he has zero power and I don't think he's ever been in the ring with anyone close to my power. In that fight I would have him running just like Green. "
********: If you had your pick, what would your next fight be?
Miranda: "Jermain Taylor."
********: While you await your next move, what are you going to do in between fights?
Miranda: "I usually only take 3-4 weeks off and visit Colombia for a week or so. Then, I return back to PR to the gym. Not to train for a specific fight but just to stay in decent shape and continue to learn."
********: Do you plan on returning to Colombia anytime soon, and if so, what do you intend on doing once you arrive?
Miranda: "I am going to Colombia this week. I will hang out with my friends and fans. The people there love me because they consider me their champion."
********: How much do the fans mean to you, and what would you like to say to them?
Miranda: "Fans are very important to me. I know many boxers try to stay away from that. But I choose to be close to them. After the fight in Puerto Rico, I stayed at the arena in the parking lot until 3 AM speaking with fans, signing autographs, and taking pictures. This is what the want and I'm willing to share it with them."
