Think about it...heavyweight title unification AND a revenge match for Peter all in one.

This is a big money fight, but only as a title unification match. Now obviously that's easier said than done as King provides the proverbial monkeywrench to the cogs of these dreams of mine.

A unified champion, especially someone exciting like Peter or Wlad, could bring boxing back. Or at least get it so it's head is above water. Something needs to be done fast though, because I don't think boxing's seen worse times since it was legalized.

Based on the news that I posted yesterday, Peter is going to be fighting Vitali Klitschko after Vitali fights Maskaev. Peter will lose to Vitali and will not get another shot for some time, unless King will give it to him a few more times in the row.

Okay perhaps Thompson should be rated higher for the Guinn and especially the Timur wins, but I haven't seen him myself and know nothing of his style so it didn't bother me much. He needs a breakout performance, needs to blow someone out of the ring or at least box their head off. I'm just not excited about guys who're going to get in there and score unimpressive decisions against 2nd rate competition. Hard to get too excited about a guy like that. If he can't knock out the 2nd raters, or even beat them soundly, what's he gonna hope to accomplish when he steps up?

Maybe he does deserve to be rated slightly higher, but the guy needs a good win to bring him to the top. I hate the guys who kind of sneak in with a few decisions over journeymen who fans happen to know, only to put on a snorefest when they finally step up. I've never even seen the guy but judging on his record and physical characteristics (big guy with relatively few knockouts, be wary of them if you value exciting fights) I'm not expecting much to be honest.

I think toney thompson's where he should be for now. he has potential and maybe better than tua and brewster but who's he beaten? dom guinn? please,,,,,he's lost every time he's stepped up and got a little bit of a name from knocking out a shot micheal grant. hell,,he was dominated by monte barret for crying out loud
