Yea. It is scheduled for July 28th and hopefully at the Hard Rock in South Florida. I think this press release is a little premature. From what I have heard the deal is close, but not finished. However, I see no reason why it won't happen. Just waiting to hear what venue has been agreed to.

Why is everyone allofasudden saying, "all Pavlik has is power....watch out for Pavliks right hand...etc"...?

Pavlik is a good puncher but he's not a devastating puncher. He's an accumulation kind of guy. Zertuche took a TON of punishment before taking that right hand on the button. I don't think you'd see Pavlik blasting anyone out early or anything.

Miranda Pavlik will come down to whether Pavlik can take Miranda's best punches. I don't know if he can do that, but he could definitely box with Miranda over the first part of the fight and drown him late.

My god though, when was the last time two guys with their combined KO % fought? Miranda has 24KOs in 28 fights and Pavlik has 27 in 30 fights. Crazy...

Miranda-Pavlik sounds like a solid match-up, but past the fight itself I'm interested in the implications. Who has a better shot at Taylor? I just don't get the feeling Jermain is going to be a stable fixture in the division and I keep looking for the next big boxer to sweep his championship away from him. It seems to me Miranda, Green, and Pavlik have been touted by HBO as possible middleweight forces- Green is, in the grand scheme of things, out- so now it's down to Miranda and Pavlik. The winner is taking Taylor....and I think they have a good shot at getting his crown.

your right, green is a lot better then pavlik boxing wise.

pavliks a solid boxer, with an okay defense. but hes got a great punch thats accurate, strong, and powerful. And all those things could really do damage on Miranda
