Why do people insist on pointing out Floyd's lack of power...?

When has been obvious for years that power is the LAST thing Floyd needs to beat you?

All I hear is "Floyd has no power to hurt so and so". What Floyd has goes above and beyond power and those tools take him to victory. He has enough sting in his accurate punches to at least make you second guess falling in carelessly. However, his speed, movement, defense, ring smarts and skills take him to victory. Power is not needed.

Because people like to see knockdowns and knockouts. Thats why the majority of people watch boxing. Power is synonymous with knockouts, ergo people criticise PBF for not having great punching power.

    Its not a major thing.

Floyd has had his fair share of KO's.
But he is paitent and waits until he knows its safe to become more offensive.

I think if Floyd wasnt so arrogant and compared himself to people like Leonard and Robinson he would get half the amount of critisicm.

U cant really argue with his record.

No...not a hypocrite. Just not honest.

Its been done before. He may be hoping to convince De La Hoya that he's going to be in for a slug-fest by creating this bad blood, thus when he actually fights his usual defensive game it confuses De La Hoya cos he hasnt been preparing for it, ala Barrera vs Hamed. But I dont imagine that Da La Hoya will be easily tricked by such tactics.

yeah.... Oscar's smarter than that... but at this point of Oscar's career, i seriously doubt he could deal with Floyd's speed... but hey, this is boxing... a guy with punching power (i.e. Oscar) can change the complexion of the fight if he connects flush to an untested chin (i.e. Floyd)...

Power punching is boxing is a huge factor... saying that it is not needed is blatantly foolish and ******...

If Floyd can't hurt Oscar his chances of winning decrease drastically.

People talk about his lack of power because its one of the only things he lacks.

If you are going to talk .. you gotta back it up.. You cant be saying you are going to KO people and then NOT..

He would get more respect just being honest.. If he said I plan to box this ****ers ears off for 12 rounds.. and if I am lucky KO the bastard.. I am sure people would be much less critical..
