Why Arturo Gatti should never fight again and should have stopped...

...about 3 or 4 fights ago. The man just doesn't have that attitude anymore that made him the most entertaining fighter during his prime. He won't go and slug it out anymore that typified him. We always wonder when it'll happen and Larry Merchant always asks him in the post fight interviews if that warrior is still in him. He says yes though it seems like he'd rather box his way to victories these days. At least that's what he attempted in his last few fights and came up short. Gatti was a fighter that only knew how to really brawl. When he couldn't brawl he shouldn't have boxed, he should have quit. Gatti will remain as best of a warrior as you could get though nothing more.

    What the hell?

in his fight before last against Dammegard......he walked through all sorts of punishment and pulled a late comeback knockout.

That was as classic of Gatti as you'll ever see. He just doesn't belong at 147 pounds.

He loses by KO every time, so I guess the attitude is still there. His skills aren't thou.

He did change his style after the first Ward fight, in fairness. But overall he's taken an insane amount of punishment, and I don't think anyone would disagree if he decided to call it a day.

He changed his style BEFORE the Ward fight. He became a boxer and was lured into a slugfest. Samething with ward III

Gatti was widely regarded as a moderately slick boxer before he started getting drawn into brawls. His reputation as a blood and guts warrior only really came about after his knockout of Wilson Rodriguez.

              That's not true.

He boxed in his younger years, most notably, in his victories over Tracy Harris Patterson, which came in the mid 90s.

He boxed in some fights and brawled in others, but the boxing ability was always there.

Q: Why Arutro Gatti should retire?

A: 3 one sided beatings, several wars, diminished skills, increasing age

i win the prize...wheres my ****ing trophy?

russ anber, who trained gatti as an amatuer said he was a very good boxer. if gatti wants to keep fighting now, he'll have to box - no one can take the kind of punishment he's taken for years. punchers have a lot shorter careers than boxers
