Mesi - Is it all over?

I have not heard anymore about Joe Mesi, has he followed doctors' advice and quit the game, or are we going to see him in the ring again? I must say I thought there was a possibility that the authorities would not let him fight again, it seems to have gone a bit quiet does anybody know what the deal is?

Any state that gives him a boxing license should be held accountable in civil court following any Mesi medical emergency that can be traced to his condition.

He has no business in the ring. He finished undefeated, he's a good looking guy with a great boxing mind - get him in an announcing booth. I can't imagine any doctor would give him the OK.

Mesi's team confirmed he had suffered the hematoma and they are weighing options in japan to fight, Mesi said he will listen to his father because he is the best guidance for him and that if he can fight in japan you will see him back in the ring......

I think it is ******ed of his father just trying to make a buck off his son, but hey mesi seems smart but if he dumb enough to die in the ring let him.....I dont like Joe but he is bright/good looking and like everyone says would make a great commentator...I see no reason why mesi would get in the ring again, but hey whatever....I could only see espn/fox taking him in as an anchor though....

Showtime needs a 3rd guy. They used to have Bobby Czyz - was Bernstein with Albert then, too? Anyway, I like having 3 guys on the fight, even if sometimes that guy is inarticulate Roy Jones.

Never thought about showtime, that is an option that would boost showtimes morale a bit.....

I dont like Roy as a fighter but his announcing is pretty good, I still like George though...It is good to have a fighters point of view, Jones isnt as egotistic as he used to be in the past on the mic and so far he has done a pretty good job...Roy is well spoken so thumbs up to him.

Mesi was fed palookas!! I always thought that he couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag! Glass jaw.

I agree completely...it would be a shame to see him be permanently injured in a fight he shouldn't have fought in the first place.

was a good looking prospect but he shouldnt fight again. it sad but it happens, instead of trying to look at other options he should just accept the fact and retire. i was reading an article a few week back bout a kid joel de la hoya was training. 15-0 all by KO in the first round. 15 first round KOs in 15 fights!!!!! but now they found some irregularity in his brain and it looks like he gonna have to pack it in. P.S Mesi's dad is an idiot. its time for him to start acting more like Joe's dad not his manager.
