why throw 100 punches a round and land 40 when you can throw 30 and land 20?
therefore if your hitting a guy with everything and the kitchen sink and hes still standing you can rely on your rserves to get him on the scorecards instead gassin out and getting your ass handed to you
agreed 100 percent, wlad's greatest weapon is his ability to bank all the early rounds with his boxin ability...

once it gets into the 5th or 6th round his opponent starts to realize that he needs a KO to win and starts taking risks that wlad doesent allow them to get away with.... same scenarion in both the byrd and brock fights... he breaks his opponents will to stick to a fight plan... and he is slowly breaking them down with his jab all along... so they are already softened up by the time he decides to turn it on....

It's too bad most of you guys don't understand Russian. It's actually an interview with Wlad, where he is commentating on his first fight and how his style changed since then. There is a couple of his videos with his comments that I've seen.

Yep i think he was tired and not chinny from what i saw of the last minute or so of the fight. Didnt see all of it. Lamon probs though Wlad had some clot on the brain or something acting strange like that.

It's a lot of interview and I'm not that good at the voice - text translation. But he is basically describes his first fight, compares his style then (says you can see the amateur style there), compares it with his later style, and says that he remembers thinking "Why would you want to get up?" when the guy got up from the first knock down. That's the gist of it, anyway.

i love watching wlad's older fights. i have this fight, as well as his first 25 or so fights on tape thanks to a person who was nice enough to hook me up with them.

i rather liked his older style in terms of offence. i will agree that he is a more patient, better defencive fighter now.

His style seemed a lot more Vitali like in that fight.
