I have often wondered if White Americans could fight. After realising Stone Cold Steve Austin did not actually throw punches for real, I went to search for the answer.

What's with all the blatantly racist threads lately? It seems like the "non-stop boxing" forum is becoming the "non-stop bigot" forum. And here's some red K to go with it.

We are too well-fed and wealthy to be great fighters. But no it's not genetic, since they are no GENETIC differences between white Europeans and white Americans. And too many of the best fighters ever were white Americans.

It's all down to the make-up of American society. In the US boxing is a sport for the poor, hence in previous generations ***ish, Italian and Irish American fighters rose to the top. Now however the poor in the US are mostly black or hispanic. Blacks and Hispanics also have more of a boxing culture now, whereas white Americans don't.

In Europe and the Hispanic world people ofen take up boxing not because it's a way out of poverty but more out of love of the sport. The Klits, Hatton, Calzaghe and Barrera weren't born into poverty but made it to the top for example.

To be fair there are genetic differences between you and most white Europeans.

Working Class boxers are usually the best IMO. In England there are people of all colours in working class enviroments.

Hatton wasnt born in poverty but hes a working class fighter.

How is it racist to ask where the white american champions have gone when they dominated the sport in the past.

Better question is....when have White people from England ever dominated? I don't think that's ever been the case.
