As it is he represents far too much of a risk to any of the big fighters because he isnt considered enough of a draw in America to make it worthwhile them facing the overwhelming likelihood of being outclassed and defeated for the kind of payday they could get for fighting guys they are much more likely to defeat.
Winky Wright for the longest couldnt get ANY ...ANY big fight here, after the fight with vargas (which i still think he was ****ing robbed) he had to go all over the world and beg for tuneups until he finally got a shot against sugar shane and then tito, so its not always the case of just being from here.

Frank Warren - yeah, he's a **** - has been trying to get one of his stable of heavyweights a title shot for years now. Okay, his stable of heavyweights are a crock of ****, but they all have a reasonable ranking to get a shot at someone. However they only time he managed it was off the back of Danny beating Tyson. This is what I imagine happens in meetings:

Frank - "Hey Don, let one of my boys have a shot at Valuev, would you? So it looks like I'm doing something with my fighters."

Don King - "Ha ha ha, **** off, baby. Only in America, you can piss off. I've got deals with Bob Arum that are more important."

Big fish in a small pond. But put Frank up against the US money machine and he has to sc**** for an opportunity. The same principle - to a lesser extent - applies to The Blow and the way he's managed. Even after the Lacy victory many of the name fighters just aren't interested.
I see what you are saying. I just think that JC needs to make a name for himself by leaving Warren. It seems he's more of a stumbling block because he can't produce big fights. JC really hasn't helped himself though because he's just kind of accepted it. He needs to make a power move for his career's sake.

Saying its all Joes fault and that he has let to late is just going over old ground. We are in the here and now and in this here and now, Joe has been sounding off almost to anyone that will listen that he WANTS a fight with the likes of Hopkins and Winky. He should be commended and supported. But these guys just dont want to know. Yet its all Joes fault.

That's a valid point now, but in the outset if you're a fighter who lives in the UK and you're starting out, then who could you go to? Frank's the biggest promoter in the country, and Don King wouldn't care less (When the guy's starting out) so he's got nowhere else to go.

Obviously The Blow could easily go to another promoter NOW, but then that coincides back with my earlier point about "this time last year no one wanted him".

Good debate btw guys... nice and articulate, no needless flames and stuff. I sometimes get put off coming in NSB because of all the "pwning", but this is a good one.

You're right. But we also have to admit that he would probably annihilate any big name near his weight right now, and for the first time we will be able to say that the Yanks are ducking a Brit. Taylor's people as much as admitted it.

What about DAWSON?????????? JC against Bad Chad is the fight I most want to see, but I'm the only one who has mentioned it. Chad is longer than Calzaghe and maybe faster; he'd give Joe a hee of a fight.
