It's no different than Mayorga hitting guys behind the head when they duck. If they duck and get rabbit punched, it's 100% legal. (You'll notice this punch happens in every single fight you've ever seen that lasted more than a round). It's only illegal if it's intentional.

If fighters turn sideways while Cotto is dishing his body shots of course they'll be hit close to the back. If you turn away while Cotto is punching then you got hit in the back just like what happened to Quintana.

It's against the rules to hit in the back but it is also against the rules to show your back. A punch in the back doesn;t count but unless you're trying to hit them in the back you won't get warned.

im not a cotto hater, i think he's the 4th best welterweight after judah mayweather and baldomir, he's a good fighter im not still sure that he can take a punch yet though, but he does punch in the back and you know it
