We're likely to see a mix of styles in this fight with Floyd better on the back foot and De La Hoya doing more damage. The opinions of the judges in which is more important could well be a factor. Open scoring makes it less of a factor.

Forget the open scoring, just have Laurence Cole referee the fight.

am i missing something here. i thought open scoring was implemented to keep scoring by the judges more legit. reason being if they had to show there round by round scoring starting i think in the forth that they wouldnt try to cook the cards and no more wide swings in scoring.
        am i wrong

That wouldn't be good at all. If Floyd is winning 7 rounds to 1 that means he has completely dominated Oscar and can handle whatever he has to offer. Nothing Oscar could do after that would change it, and he would look foolish chasing Floyd around the ring to no avail.

Open scoring is good but, takes a little of the suspense out of the fight. Knowing that a fighter is down on points in a competitive fight may prompt the winning fighter to run for the rest of the fight.
