    Cotto/Urkal

I am a huge Cotto fan. Tonights fight was really disapointing. Even though he beat Urkal, he lost points in my book. I dont know, but this kind of weak showing by Cotto seems to happen when he fights in Puerto Rico. I just dont understand; the first 3-4 rounds he was punishing Urkal, and then he just kind of quit. I still think he beats Judah, but I think this fight showed Cottos flaws. From what I have seen, Cotto gets frustrated and thats his weakness.
I thought making 140 was making him weak, but after this fight....

I hate to say this, but this fight brings a lot of questions about Cotto. I just dont know what to think. He has to dominate Judah to get in my good graces again. I think he will, I hope... I hope...

i find that urkal's trainer shouldn't stop the fight, maybe urkal could go 12 rounds what would be nice for him, even if he could'nt win the fight anymore.
what is strange is that he stop the fight even if urkal was relatively alright, but he didn't stop the fight when arthur abraham had his jaw broken. but hey a trainer should protect his fighter so i can't blame him for stoping urkal

I new it wouldnt be as easy as some thought, Urkal while past his best is still a good fighter. Hey a win is a win, Roll on June 9th!

no cotto, didn't really struggle, but i think he got frustrated with urkal style and because urkal was damn tough. he landed some great shot's on urkal, which would knock zabs head off.

i was more concerned at how many head shots got landed on cotto............many many power shots landed and flush on the temple, but Cotto is lucky that Urkal is a feather fist....

I believe if Judah can hit Cotto the way Urkal did, it will be a hard fight for Cotto and he could get KO'd.....however, I would never think Judah would have the determination that Urkal does.

Never got to see it last night but that sounds like a fair assesment, Judah is better and hits harder but Urkal is far tougher

I don't think Urkal landed many flush shots. Cotto kept his hands on his face everytime Urkal was throwing partially blocking almost everything, sometimes he did get caught but were looping slaps.

To be honest, I give him a 7. He seemed way too heavey and a bit lazy at times. Cotto came in with a gut! I couldn't believe it when I saw him hitting the mitts before the fight. His deffense was all about putting his gloves in his face, hardly any head movement, looked a lot more stationary than in the Q fight that's for sure. Having said that, at no point I remember seeing him tired, I think Urkal was way more active on rd 9 or so but Cotto was working well also, Urkal made it a boring and ugly fight with head butts and clinches, he came to survive not to win, he clearly wasn't the same guy who fought KT and Harris. In all honesty, Cotto better come better prepared against Zab or Zab's gonna tear him a new one.

Cheers,i'll take ur word for it, u know ur stuff espesially with Cotto!
Cant believe he had a gut! It honestly sounds like he just got complacent and overlooked Urkal, felt as if he just had to show up to get the W. Never thought he was the type to do that! His D is still good but it used to be far better, i think he is gettin a lil KO crazy a touch more reckless than he once was. He WILL come fully prepared and mentally ready for Zab - he must know Zab is a threat!
