Talk about living up to the HYPE... Thoughts on a TRILOGY????

It's a shame that Vazquez had to quit. Of all people to quit...

But Vazquez seems to be really good and solving the puzzle of a good boxing. He was nailing Marquez with some BOMBS in that fight. And he stopped Gonzalez.

I think I would favor Vazquez in the rematch, in a much better fight then this one. A more INSIDE battle.

And then the third fight would be up for grabs.

I mean, if the 2nd and 3rd fights are anything like this one... we have an all-time great trilogy on our hands.

These guys were made for eachother.

They were born to meet in the ring

didnt see the fight but tell me.
while handicapping this one it was close but then i thought;...vasquez has been in some wars.is it going to catch up to him this time.
was that thought plausable in your view that that happened?
i mean like when i seen the weigh in fotos vasquez looked like he'd been around the block several more times than rafa and he's only a couple years older.
      thanks

Vazquez got nailed with some hard shots.

But none of his previous wars seemed to effect him in this fight.

He showed sooo much heart, getting on the inside of Marquez's jab. Marquez has a hard, crisp jab. The jab is what broke Vazquez's nose.

Vazquez was landing some HUGE shots, and dropped RM in the 3rd round from a bomb AFTER he was getting destroyed by a MARQUEZ combo.

It was a war, but its not the type of war that i think is gonna effect for his next few fights.

When they meet again, and another time after that, it could very well effect him and his game

Actually I think those shots effected him. He got hit by tons of power shots by Marquez and although he wasn't badly wobbled by all of them, he did look discouraged abit. He was in a war where they traded constantly and in most cases he was getting the worse end which is always discouraging when you think your the bigger puncher. He did knock Marquez down though Marquez got back up gamely and continued as if it never happened. Also the bloody/broken nose is tough to fight through. I guess now he knows how Jhonny felt in that fight.
