Retirement Still an Option For Danny Williams

One would think that 33-year-old Danny Williams would continue to fight after scoring a ninth-round knockout of Scott Gammer to regain the British heavyweight title on Friday. [details]

I don't see why he would retire now. He is finally in good shape. 228 is the perfect weight for him. He should be on a roll after this fight. Don't retire Danny!

Williams should give it one more go and stay at the weight hes at cause him fighting at 260 plus lbs is just redicilous. Especially with Fraudley out of the way fight a few guys and challange for one of the titles. An n shape Williams can give a lotof these hw's problems

I would love for Danny to get it nice on the domestic level and maybe world too.

Surely hes got a few fights left in him but its all about if he can stay mentally focused. Even the fight last night he seemed to switch off at times against a very limited opponent

                Danny Williams

                Hey Folks

Is it just me, or is Danny Williams just a fat old wanker who beat up an old Mike Tyson a few years ago? His performance last night was abysmal....now he reckons he's going to quit boxing 'on a high'.

Laugh, I almost pissed my pants.

Nothing more than a ****ing *****.

It will be a shame if he retires after getting himself in such great shape. I really think Danny could hang with most of the top boxers in the division at his best. I can't believe it's taken this long for him to realise that he was way overweight. It may be too little, too late. Only time will tell.

IMO, it might be a good time for Danny to retire since he can now leave on a nice win while he still has all of his marbles.... I agree with some of the other posters here who said that Williams could be competitive with some of the other contenders in the division but all the same I think that he would take too much punishment in those matchups whether he wins or loses.

However, if he does fight again, I think he should fight an opponent other than any of the usual British suspects(i.e. Skelton, Sprott, Audley). I think he holds his own against Rahman, Brewster, Ibragimov, etc...
