I thought ATLAS did the right thing.

Theres a guy that really loves the sport and cares about the fighters.

Teddy Atlas is very good for boxing, hopefully he can accomplish something with the commisions after he retires from commentating.

Cause he really has the right ideas and knows whats good for boxing.

You can only commend Quiles for the courage he showed. Thats incredible. Not just anybody can take that kind of beating and stand up afterward.

      Its 100% the refs fault.

Its kind of disgusting how you could blame Quiles for trying to accomplish a dream of his, when nobody was getting in his way.

He tried till the very last bell and i commend him for that. The ref should be fined, and corner should be banned from boxing. What happened was terrible.

I really hope there isnt any permanant damage, and again, its disgusting that you would actually hope for permanant damage to a fighter even if you dont mean it.

And its times like these that make me feel ashamed to be a fan. That was a disgrace by the referee mostly, but also by the corner.

And Campbell showed no mercey. That alone should have convinced the ref to call a halt to the bout.

Campbell Beats Quiles in IBF Eliminator

Every time you think Nate Campbell (30-5-1, 24 KOs) is distant memory, the "The Galaxxy Warrior" finds a way to put himself back in position for a title shot. [details]

I've always been a fan of Nate Campbell. When he was really nothing more than a prospect he gave Joel Casamayor a tough fight. Then he suffers ko losses to Robbie Peden who isn't even that big of a puncher then he gets a huge upset win over Kid Diamond only to lose to Isaac Hlatshwayo.Since then he rebounded with a win and now this big win over Quiles.Hopefully he is finally on the right track and finally win a world title.

Anyone saw the fight of Ricky Quiles???

                lost all rounds.

                he had no chance.

                what a disapointment

Anyone who disrespects Quiles and his effort does not respect boxing as a sport. The man gave everything he had and got throughly, convincingly, firmly and expertly beat. He endured an enormous amount of punishment in that fight. It was a rough night for him but he stayed in until the final bell. The referee is supposed to have a fighter's back and get him out of there if his heart won't let him. Bad call from the ref, great effort on Quiles part.

oh yeah, im sure thats what he was thinkin when he was fighting: "gee, i really hope the fans enjoy this."

my entertainment my ass. i did not enjoy seeing that man being beaten to within an inch of his life and nobody bothered to save him from it except for teddy atlas, a man who had no obligation to tell the ref to stop it, but he still did.

i never want quiles in the ring again. fighters who take beatings like that FOR NO REASON AT ALL disgust me. they shouldnt even be allowed in the ring. they're a waste of talent and life. nate campbell was ripping quiles apart and quiles did nothing to save himself, it was pathetic.

him dancing around showed he was a fool.
him not protecting himself showed he wasnt in campbell's league.
him urging campbell on showed he was a moron.
and him not staying down after finally being dropped showed he deserved every bit of punishment he took, because he refused to protect himself.

he refused to protect himself and HE KNEW HE COULDNT WIN. i can understand not wanting to quit, but if you dont wanna quit and you cant even protect urself, that should clue urself in that you dont even belong in the ring. i'd be more proud of quiles if he stayed down that if he got up. that at least would've showed that he could hang in there for at least 10 rounds with campbell before succumbing to the better man, instead of needlessly taking ridiculous punishment that will probly have permanent effects.

ricky quiles' ******ity (that was ******ity, not courage) disgusts me. ricky quiles should never EVER be allowed to fight again.

I absolutely agree, I was about to make a thread but thank you for pointing it out... I was very dissappointed with what happened and I would've done the same thing Teddy did... I have huge amount of respect for what Quiles did...
