Danny Williams Knocks Out Gammer in Thriller

Heavyweight Danny Williams was on the verge of retirement when he faced British heavyweight champion Scott Gammer in Neath. Coming off a three-round knockout loss to Audley Harrison in December, Williams was viewed by many as a shot fighter and nothing but a stepping stone for Gammer. [details]

I would like to say Williams could go on and actually do something but I can't! It seems that Harrison, Williams and Skelton keep going round in circles beating each other then the loser is branded a failure then goes on to beat someone else thus becoming a challenger again!! Its an endless circle with seemingly no World title shot in sight despite all the talk!! Anyway that aside, Williams looked good. He shed the weight and looked in good shape and actually attacked Gamer as opposed to backing off and fighting defensively. He's much better being a few stone lighter as it showed in his performance. He took a few big shots in the 8th round and replied in the 9th with some real heavy shots to end the fight!

Even as a fan of Danny Williams (did you know this?) I wouldn't describe it as a "thriller". I enjoyed it though.

It certainly wasn't a thriller. Got a bit better after round 4 though.

good to see gammer get ko'd. williams could have made so easier if he used his jab every round and if he didnt switch off and jus walk into shots.
he could have ko'd this fool much earlier.
