I also think it would be a great fight...I can see a best 2 of 3 series because I think either could win on a given night. But, if I had a gun to my head, I'de pick Holmes. Here's why....If Billy Conn (175) outboxed Louis, what would Holmes do? And, Holmes GOT UP FROM EARNIE SHAVERS shots. Louis didn't hit harder than that.

Louis by decision. He may not have the jab but he was a more complete fighter.

Louis was one of the most clinical finishers in the sport.
He could hurt and finish anyone. Not because he had incredible pure power, but his patience and technique were great.

Louis would get outboxed, but he also wasnt nearly as slow as people make out. He could hurt Holmes at any stage if he landed clean with a big righ or left hook.

No way Louis will survive Homes punches. Jab or otherwise Homes will smother Joe flat on the canvas.

Dammit watch both fighters old fights, Joe is flat footed and will always trade. And by that Homes will walk over Joe all night.

Yeah, Billy Conn outboxed him, but what happened? Conn got ****y and tried to slug with Louis, and Joe put him lights out in the 13th. Holmes has a tendency to brawl when hurt, like against Tyson and Norton. A puncher like Louis would knock him out if Larry tried to go toe to toe.

If Holmes goes toe to toe with Louis, he will end up on the seat of his pants. Louis punches waaaaay harder then Holmes, and probably threw faster combinations.
